在创设情景中进行语法教学;
在完成任务中进行语法教学。这节课的主要目标是达到学习虚拟语气一般条件句的三种时态的不同结构以及一般条件句的倒装结构。通过文字、表格和练习对虚拟语气讲解,使得复杂的语法通俗明了,浅显易懂;
再利用设计好的语言情景,加以运用和巩固,以笔头、口头等多种形式将语法练习有机地、灵活地融会于各种课堂任务之中。通过对比归纳,有助于学生从整体上进行掌握,帮助学生将语法知识加以巩固和“内化”,以培养学生自主学习与探究的能力,提高准确使用语言的能力。

Teaching aims After learning this part, the students will be able to 1. use unreal conditionals of the present, past or future time; 2. improve reading abilities and the ability of using unreal conditionals; 3. master some useful language points. Teaching procedures Step 1 Lead-in 1. Translate the following sentences on the blackboard. 如果我是一只小鸟,我就能飞了。

If I were a bird, I could fly. Is it possible for you to be a bird The situations are not real or are imaginary. We call them unreal conditionals. Unreal conditionals state a condition or situation that is not real or is imaginary. 2. Find out the unreal conditional sentences mentioned in the reading part. If you had joined the chat room ten minutes ago, you would have known what we were talking about. If I got married in the UK, I would expect a present. If I got married in Italy, I would have to give a present. Should you come to Brunei, you would have to take off your shoes before going into someone’s house. [Explanation] 为了使枯燥的语法课变得生动有趣,所以在导入部分用了一句浅显易懂的句子导入新课,让学生知道什么是虚拟语气,然后通过复习的方式将阅读课中出现的虚拟语气句一一找出,对虚拟语气有进一步的了解。

Step 2 Presentation PPT6-17 Unreal conditionals can be used in three different tenses 1. to state a present condition or situation that is not real or is imaginary. E.g. 1 I could reach the book if I were a bit taller. 2 If I had the chance, I might want to be a business consultant. the Pattern we use in unreal conditionals to state a present condition or situation. If were/did , would/could/might do Practice 1 假如我有更多的时间,我就学习汉语了。

If I had more time,I would study Chinese. 2 要不是她这么忙,她就会出席今天下午的会议了。

If she were/was not so busy, she would attend the meeting this afternoon. TIP 1 Would, could and might are often interchangeable, but with some difference in meaning. Would → intention; plan Could → ability; possibility Might → probability 2 In written English or in al situation, we usually use were in If-clauses in place of was. However, in everyday conversation, was is often used. 2. to use unreal conditionals to refer to an imaginary past action. E.g. If the man had pointed with his first finger while he was in Brunei, everyone would have thought that he was very rude. We unreal past conditionals like this If had been/done , would/could/might have done Practice 1 如果他抓紧时间,他本来能赶上那趟火车。

If he had hurried, he could have caught the train. 2 如果你昨天告诉他,他也许会提些建议。

If you had told him yesterday, he might have made some suggestions. 3. to use unreal future conditionals to talk about imaginary future situations. E.g. 1 If I had time tomorrow, I would certainly help you. 2 If I were to fail my Maths test, I would have to take it again at the end of the term. 3 If he should come tomorrow, I would talk to him about it. unreal future conditionals If was/were/did/should/were to , would/should/might do. Practice 1 假如我要出国,我就会去中国。

If I were to go abroad, I would go to China. 2 万一明天下雨,我们的运动会就推迟。

If it should rain tomorrow, our sports meeting would be put off. 三种用法的总结 表示与事实情况相反 条件从句的谓语形式 主句的谓语形式 表示与现在事实情况 相反present 过去式did/were be常用 were would/could/might/should do 表示与过去事实情况 相反past 过去完成式 had done would/could/might/should have done 表示与将来事实情况 相反future ①过去式did/were ②should do ③were to do would/could/might/should do 4. We can also put should, were and had at the beginning of an unreal conditional sentence. In this case, if is not needed any more. E.g. 1 If you should make a mistake, you should not be embarrassed. →Should you make a mistake, you should not be embarrassed. 2 If you had told me earlier, I would not have this problem now. →Had you told me earlier, I would not have this problem now. 3 If you were to take the train, you would be there much sooner. →Were you to take the train, you would be there much sooner. [Explanation] 这一环节有四部分组成,前面三步是就虚拟语气在现在时、过去时和将来时的不同用法以及常用结构。为了便于学生理解和记忆,所以在讲完三种用法后用表格来个总结,使学生一目了然;
其中还需学生注意was在非正式英语可以代替were; 当If从句中含有should/were/had时可以省略if, 然后将这三词可以提到句首,引起句子倒装。

Step 3. Practice Do the rcises on Page 40 and 41. [Explanation] 语境的实现以语篇为载体。在学习语法知识、巩固练习时, 要重视通过篇章语境, 使学生更好地理解,并提高语法的运用能力。这一环节的设计就是将虚拟语气与对话和阅读相结合,在具体的语境中讲语法,不至于死记硬背,死抠语法。
